Fundraising is a special way to support a cause you care deeply about. 

Not only are you raising vital funds for Tree Aid, but you’re also raising awareness whilst taking on a fun challenge. 

Whether you host a Tea for Trees, sign up to run a marathon or take on a hiking challenge, your contribution will make a huge difference to communities living in the drylands of Africa.  

How to start fundraising

It can be difficult to know where to start when fundraising, especially if you’re new to it. Read our easy 6-step guide for loads of detailed info on how to set up your own fundraiser. 

You can also set up a tribute page on Just Giving, where you can personalise your page with memories and photos. You can share your tribute page with friends and family at the funeral or with those who cannot attend.

You’ll also find easy to follow info on paying in the proceeds of your hard work, and we’re on hand to answer any questions or provide fundraising materials.

Where your fundraising goes

For every £1 you donate, 89p goes towards charitable activities and our programme delivery, 9p goes towards raising funds and 2p towards advocacy and awareness.

Fundraising FAQs

Yes, Tree Aid is registered with a website called JustGiving. Through JustGiving, you can set up a page for any events or fundraising you are running. It is easy to use, safe and convenient; your sponsors simply make donations online, and the money and Gift Aid will come directly to Tree Aid. 

To set up a JustGiving page, please visit www.justgiving.com/treeaid. If you would like any help, contact our Supporter Care Team on 0117 909 6363 or info@treeaid.org.

You can pay it in online, by post or over the phone. 

To pay it in online, click here. You can make a donation using your credit or debit card. Please remember to make a note of your event in the comments box. 

To pay it in by post, you can send a cheque made payable to Tree Aid with a quick covering note to Freepost Tree Aid. 

To pay it in over the phone, you can give our Supporter Care Team a call on 0117 909 6363. 

Gift Aid is a scheme that allows us to claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give. You can find out more by visiting the government website here.

If you are fundraising through JustGiving, your friends and family will have the chance to make a Gift Aid declaration when they are making their donation. 

If you are fundraising offline, you will need to ask each individual sponsor to complete a Gift Aid declaration and record how much they are donating. The easiest way to do this is to download a Tree Aid sponsorship form here.

You are still able to send in one cheque that covers multiple donations as long as you include a copy of the sponsorship forms you have completed. 

Unfortunately, Tree Aid is not able to provide money to cover the costs of your event. We recommend speaking to local businesses to see if they’d make donations to cover your efforts.

Yes — we have a special logo that you can use to promote your fundraising. If you would like a copy of the logo or any advice, please contact our Supporter Care Team on info@treeaid.org.

Yes, we can provide posters and other fundraising materials for you to use. We may also be able to share your event across our social media channels. 

We recommend that you spread the word to friends, family and colleagues and invite friends and family to cheer you on if you are taking part in an event such as running.
