Your donation, doubled impact
Since 2023 Tree Aid has proudly taken part in The Big Give's appeals, raising over £350,000 to grow trees, restore land and support communities across Africa. Through the Big Give, your support goes twice as far – creating double the impact for people and the planet.
What is the Big Give?
The Big Give is the UK’s largest match-funding campaign platform, helping charities raise more than ever before. Every appeal uses a simple but powerful idea – when you give, your donation is matched pound for pound, unlocking extra funding for causes you care about.
How it works
Before each appeal, Tree Aid secures pledges from a group of generous supporters. The Big Give then brings in additional match funds from its wider network. Together, these create a match pot – ready to double every pound donated during the Big Give Week.

Frequently asked questions
How can I donate?
To have your donation doubled, donate through Tree Aid’s page on the Big Give’s online fundraising platform during an appeal. The link to the website can be found here.
Donations will only be accepted via debit card, credit card or Apple or Google Pay and BACS. Donations made offline (for example through cheques or CAF payments) cannot be match-funded.
If you want to donate £500 or more, donors can also choose to use the BACS donation option. Please set this up as soon as possible, as BACS payments can sometimes take time. If these BACS payment reach the Big Give after the week of the campaign, they will not be matched.
What happens if you raise more than the target?
If we raise more than our target during an appeal, we will help more people grow trees for food and to earn an income. If we raise less than our target, we can scale back our work accordingly.
Help! I am having trouble donating
If you are having issues donating, try refreshing the Big Give page or accessing the campaign through a private or different browser. If the issues remain unresolved, please send a screenshot of the problem you’re experiencing, along with the browser, version, and device type you’re using to hello@biggive.org.
I've forgotten my password
If you have forgotten the password to your Donation Account, click on the ‘Donate now’ on a charity campaign page, then click on the ‘Login’ button in the middle of the page. You will see a ‘Forgot password?’ link, which will allow you to change your password.
